Appendix D. Termination Status
If KEYpak encounters a fatal error while converting a document
to another format, the conversion process will be terminated. The termination status will be listed in the log file or displayed on
your terminal.
This appendix lists and describes each of the termination status generated by KEYpak.
For detailed information on the log messages generated with a termination
status, refer to chapter 6 of the KEYpak
ODX Conversion Reference Guide.
Status = 5 Command
line errors detected
KEYpak has encountered errors related to either one of the following
command areas:
• The KEYpak command line used to invoke the application.
• The option files referenced from the command line.
The errors may be due to the syntactic structure of the command line, or they may be due to invalid parameter values. If a log file is requested and is successfully opened, it will contain messages which further define the problem.
Status = 7 Failed to open log file
A log file is requested, but KEYpak could not open it. A common cause for failing to open the log
file is an invalid file name or the log file already exists.
Since the log file could not be opened, no further messages will be logged to
help define the problem.
To append warning messages and other log data to an existing log file, use the -A option on the KEYpak command line.
Status = 8 Failed
to open statistical file
A statistics file is requested, but KEYpak failed to open it. A common cause for failing to open the
statistics file is an invalid file name.
Status = 9 Non-recoverable
system error
This status indicates that an unrecoverable system error is detected. If a log file is requested, it will contain a
message which defines the nature of the error.
The error message generated with this status should be reported to us for
analysis and possible correction in future software releases.
Status = 10 Error
reported by source
An error related to the source conversion is detected. If a log file is requested, it will contain
messages which further define the problem.
Status = 11 Error
reported by target
An error related to the target conversion is detected. If a log file is requested, it will contain
messages which further define the problem.
Status = 12 Non-specific
processing error - see log file
This status indicates a non-specific processing error. If a log file is requested, it will contain
messages which further define the problem.
Status = 13 Unable
to load source or target
This status indicates that KEYpak could not find the specified source or target
conversion. Make sure that a search path
has been defined for the directory where KEYpak is installed.
